Live Q&A with an audience on a question about coping with the feeling of guilt (being a Ukrainian living overseas)
Have you ever been in a situation where you know that your loved ones are getting into trouble and you feel nothing but overwhelmed with guilt, because no matter what you do, it’s never enough?
The two-month brutal war happening in Ukraine has brought both pain and suffering to millions and millions of people. Not only did it cause direct damage to people living in Ukraine but it also hurt people who are currently living away from their home country, similar to the situation that our today’s audience has to face. Much as she has made an effort to help her loved ones, whether it is financial support or news spreading, she can’t help but feel guilty because her actions are ‘not enough.’
Our CQO Zip Nguyen has an open conversation with Lana, a young Ukrainian woman currently residing in Canada, who dials in to ask for advice to cope with the feeling of survivor guilt for “not doing enough” as she and many of her Ukrainian friends living overseas are experiencing. Given this tough situation, is there a way that any of us can do to work with our feelings while continuing to provide the support needed for the people we care about?
